I've had a passion for boating for many years, beginning when I was a young kid caravanning with relatives in small ski boats on Lake Mead to camp on remote beaches and then later as a teenager helping my Dad build a houseboat we used as a family retreat on Trinity Lake, California, and where I lived during the summers while working at the local marina. As I got older, I found a found a special interest in sailing and eventually became active in competitive sailing. I'd always wanted a boat for taking long excursions, and I finally settled on buying a 1979 Cheoy Lee 55 Trawler ("Hunky Dory"), an old boat that I'm currently completing renovation and repairs. This is a lot of work, but it's well worth it - the boat has definite character! 

I started this website because I had trouble finding information about the Cheoy Lee 55 Trawler, and I plan to post information as it becomes available.
